                                                      Hello! I am excited to have you visit my home page.  I teach 6th grade at Madison Middle School in Rexburg, Idaho.   I am currently teaching Language Arts and Social Studies.  I am on the district Technology Training Cadre and serve as the building technology chairman.  This allows me to work with teachers as well as students. 

I believe that everyone has a special talent and should use it to the best of their ability.  Seeing the "lights" go on in the eyes of a learner is my greatest reward. I believe that by helping others, my life will be better and happier. 

In my classroom, we have a program called B.E.A.R., Be Excited About 
Reading!  Students read novels of their choice, set their own goals, and give "Bearshares" to get others excited about reading.   This has lead to one of my favorite hobbies, collecting Teddy Bears. I have approximately 400 bears.  They come in all sizes and shapes and increase on a frequent basis.  I have just about anything that has to do with bears.   I collect at school as well as home.  Don't know what to give me for a gift?  A BEAR WOULD BE GREAT!

 


I love family and spend as much time as possible visiting, having reunions, taking walks, and just loving them. I have 4 children and 16 grandchildren, who keep me busy during most of my free time.  My older grandchildren have their own e-mail addresses and keep in touch with me nearly every day.

I am a Cancer Survivor.  I volunteer for the Reach to Recovery program of the American Cancer Society as well as participating in the Early Detection Program, especially working with teens and youth.

To relax, I love to listen to Kenny G. cd's.  I also spend time in my yard, watching birds, enjoying the waterfall or reading a good book in the shade.
